1 Freehold title, same Deed, but 2 addresses.

Hi I own (and live in) a freehold property that is currently split into 2 flats with 2 postal addresses. It is described on the title register as 'The Freehold land shown edged with red on the plan of the above Title filed at the Registry and being 12A and 12B', it has one freehold title and is under the same deed. Does this mean that I don't need to apply for amalgamation to turn it into one house? Thanks Siobhan

Hi Siobhan - if you are changing it from 2 flats with 2 addresses to one house you need to contact your local authority street name and numbering department to get that done. Once you have that written confirmation you can apply to update the register itself to refer to the single confirmed postal address. No amalgamation is required as you have a single title already
