I purchased my property around 4 years ago.
At the time I was told the property was a freehold property, but the freeholder was unknow.

It appears now that I have the head lease for 8 neighbouring properties.
I am now being chased by the freeholder for grounds rent.

My question would be is there any comeback from the acting solicitor when i purchased the property as they didn't advise me properly?
When I purchased the property I wasn't made aware of the ramifications of the potential arrangements I would have to enter into to collect and pay rents.

The other question is if I am responsible for managing the headlease, how do I pass this onto my neighbouring properties?
