How long does it take for land registry to update title deeds?

I purchased my property in April 2025. I need a copy of the deeds to prove ownership. As there is a cost associated with this how can I be sure that title has been transferred to me before making the payment. I have been advised it can take months to actually update the register.

Hello Steve - submitted in May and waiting to be processed. If you need to prove that you are the legal owner ask your conveyancer for a copy of the purchase deed (Transfer form TR1)
