Re Land Registration
Under section 3(2) Land Registration Act 2002)
a person may apply voluntarily to be registered as the proprietor of an unregistered legal estate if either:

  • the estate is vested in them
  • they are entitled to require the estate to be vested in them
Can anyone please explain what vested means in terms of Land Registration and how this would be evidenced. thanks

Claire - in registration terms vesting means unconditionally owned. The most common evidence provided are the deeds/documents that confirm how the legal ownership has changed over time and then vested in the applicant
