HM Land Registry are only holding the register and the responsibility to add, vary and cancel charges remains with the originating authority.
If you believe there is an error on the register, you will need to contact the originating authority who can investigate and vary or cancel charges accordingly (if required).
If a charge is varied or cancelled, you can then repeat your search if the search was conducted through GOV.UK or Portal services.
We are working very closely with local authorities to cleanse their data when it is migrated however, HM Land Registry do not have the power to add, vary or cancel the registered charges and therefore, this responsibility will always remain with the originating authority.
