This is on the Land Registry under section B: RESTRICTION:- Except under an Order of the registrar no disposition or dealing by the proprietor of the land is to be registered without the consent of the Housing Corporation.

However, the Housing Corp is an abolished govt department. This restriction is preventing me selling as there is no Housing Corp to contact to either get consent (which seems bizarre anyway!) or ask for permission to remove it all together. How can this restriction be removed? Or dealt with so I can sell? Thank you.

C S - the key here is what legislation the restriction refers to as some, as you state, may now be superfluous and can't be complied with
You haven't shared the title number so if you wish that to remain private please use our contact us form to submit the specifics and the support team can check and advise as appropriate
Public guidance: dealing with land and property - GOV.UK

Thank you for the reply.

It is MS208823 and also MS240154. It was shared ownership - I purchased 50% in 2019, then staircased to 100% plus freehold in July 2021 (the MS240154).

Any help appreciated as this is causing major issues.

C S - many thanks. The restriction is only on MS208823 and it is now obsolete. Any application to register a purchase would a) not require compliance and b) lead to it automatically being cancelled.
If there's a need to apply for cancellation prior to exchange/completion then an application can be made to cancel it (form RX3) and a request to expedite submitted just after to hasten matters - Request an expedite - GOV.UK
