Hello

I am currently in the processes of selling my flat. I have joint ownership of the freehold with my wife and another person. The Buyers Solicitors have asked why a unilateral notice was put in place when purchasing the freehold and have asked for it to be removed. The other freeholder needs to know what is on the unilateral notice before requesting it to be removed. Do you know where this can be found?

Thanks

Izu

Hello Izu - you can check the register online for a fee to confirm what interests are protected - Search for land and property information - GOV.UK
PG 19 section 2 then explains how an application to cancel or withdraw a UN can be made as appropriate - Practice guide 19: notices, restrictions and the protection of third-party interests in the register - GOV.UK

Land registration is complex, designed to protect legal and financial interests in property.
