RX3/RX4 form submitted by seller’s solicitor:how long will it take for council to sign the form

Hi, We are in the process of buying the house having title number EX502539. And our solicitor is asking for RX3/RX4 form to be signed by the council from seller’s solicitor. Hence the seller’s solicitor has submitted the form to the council. It’s already 3 weeks and we haven’t received the form back. Our mortgage offer is going to expire and also our rental contract where we are staying is going to end so I am extremely worried if we can complete before the offer and contract will expire or not as there is long holiday coming soon. Can you please help me in finding out how long will it take for the RX3/RX4 form to get it signed by the council once it is submitted? Thank you.

Shristi - we have no input with regards how long a council might take to complete a form RX3/RX4. You'd need to contact them directly
There's no application as yet against title EX502539

Hi Adam
Thank you for your reply. As I am new to this matter, I am confused on the actual process, is the form first sent by the solicitor to the council and then it they return it to solicitor and they make application to HM land registry or the application form is directly sent to HM Land registry and the council is then located? Sorry for being so silly on this matter but we are really stressed. Thank you.

Hi Shristi - nothing silly about wanting to understand the process although in this case either option can be taken. Many councils can and do apply direct to us but much will depend on not only what the solicitor has asked them to do and/or what their process is also.
It will very much come down the specific council and solicitor as to what happens re the form

Hi Adam
Thank you so much for the explanation. I will try to contact the council and find out how long they will take for the form to get signed. And will come back for your help once the application is made. Thank you so much.

Hi Team,
I hope you are well. I wanted to ask you if the application has been lodged for our case. Apologies for asking it again and again but we are really worried and stressed as our rental contract and mortgage offer is expiring soon. Thank you.
