Hi Adam,

I am the freeholder of a property comprising of a small-business occupying the ground floor and a flat above it. At the back of the premises, there is a small parcel of land. Currently, they are under one title number. 

I would like to separate the freehold title of the property and transfer the parcel of land to a limited company. I plan to develop the land and create an outbuilding, which will serve as the registered office address for the limited company.

I am not sure if I should use the AP1 form or the TP1 form. From what I understand, if I am successful in splitting the title deed via the AP1 form, I would then have to transfer the parcel of land to the limited company via the TR1 form. However, I could combine these two steps via the TP1 form.

Could you please kindly clarify the steps I should take in order to create a new title number for the small parcel of land.

Hi Robin - form AP1 is the application form. Form TP1 is the transfer (legal deed) so you need both for a single application
