Our house sale is potentially going to collapse as it is taking the Land Registry months to decide as to whether they will approve our application to extinguish Rent Charge restrictions on Titles HN11083 and NN159087. Our solicitor is told that the LR is considering the application but this has been going on for months. The restrictor was a management company that was dissolved in 2005.
We originally raised a Deed of Variation with Bona Vacantia. The Treasury Solicitor responded that they are satisfied that there is no beneficial asset arising from the Restriction registered on the Titles, and hence no Bona Vacantia interest vested in the Crown.
Please can you urgently provide an update as the buyer is threatening to pull out of the purchase. We do not understand why this process is taking so long.

S B - HN11083 and NN159087 - applications submitted in Oct and hastened in March. We needed more from the conveyancer and they were contacted before wider checks took place starting in April. Those checks completed and the applications were completed and the registers updated yesterday
