Hi, We have had a recent objection against our title upheld by the land registry and have now negotiated a settlement. I believe that the process is a simple one to remove the UN1, either by replying to the email detailed in objection upheld documentation or possibly a UN2 form. The beneficiary is indicated that the removal will require legal fees etc to be covered as its complicated.
Can the process to remove a UN1 after negotiation of clearing it be confirmed.

If there's a Unilateral Notice on the register and someone wants to apply to remove it then there's form UN4 for the title holder and form UN2 for the beneficiary to apply with
If you've received a letter offering an alternative, such as 'please reply to this letter and we will remove it' then that's also an option

Hi Adam. Many thanks for your reply and apologies for my poorly worded sentence.
My question was really If a UN2 or reply to the email regarding recent correspondence is completed as we have agreed settlement, is that enough to remove it or is there then a complex process that would require legal support?

Martyn - it's not really a complex process but then again it is my day-job.
If you are the beneficiary of the unilateral notice then form UN2 is needed and if you follow the explanatory note son the form should be easy to complete and submit
If you are the title owner then form UN4 is the one you need and again same principles apply
If things have all been 'settled' then removing the notice is 'simple'. And it's usually a bit quicker if the beneficiary applies.

Many thanks for this Adam. The beneficiary is going to respond to close the matter but is asking us to cover legal fees if they become needed due to complex processes. I am not aware of the processes and if it could become complex and am reluctant to agree to an open ended legal fee request. So thanks for the clarification regarding the process.

Martyn - the beneficiary removing their own unilateral notice is perhaps one the simplest of applications as simply the form, no fee and that's it. Just make sure they fill it in correctly and they shouldn't need a legal rep.
Legal reps normally come in to pay re the negotiations before applying, if needed
