Plan for gift of small strip of land

My neighbour wishes to give me a small strip of what is her garden to add to my garden. Her land has registered title and mine does not. The strip is only about 3 square metres in area (5 metres along the common boundary line by 0.6 metres into her land). Will we need a professionally drawn plan to define my acquired land, and also so that her title description can be amended and the Title Plan for her land can be amended? It is so narrow that the small change to the boundary will be near impossible to show on the scale of the Title Plan.

Alan - please refer to our PG 40 for guidance on how to prepare a suitable plan for registration - Preparing plans for HM Land Registry applications (PG40s2) - GOV.UK

You will also need our guidance on how to transfer ownership - Registering land or property with HM Land Registry: Change the registered owner name - GOV.UK

Land registration is complex, designed to protect legal and financial interests in property. There can be significant consequences for any error. Please consider seeking legal representation. Before making an application without legal representation, it is important to consider the benefits of using a conveyancer.
