We are currently buying a house but before we can exchange and complete we have to wait for a restriction/charge to be removed from the title register. We have been informed that it was expedited and I can see expedited timeframes are around 10 days, it has now been 3 weeks. How can I check if it has been expedited? Application was made on the 10th June. Title number SYK207386.

Natalie - we don't have an application pending against that title so nothing has been expedited as yet.
Once an application is submitted it can then be expedited as you state. Processing generally starts within 10 days but everything then hinges on it being in order and wider checks not being needed. Expedition is not always a 'magic wand' solution.
Suggest you ask whoever is submitting the application to confirm the title number and our case (ABR) reference as well and we can check again
I note that there is a charging order protected on the register by way of a form K restriction and I assume that's the restriction/charge you are referring to. If it is you may wish to refer the conveyancer to section 4 of our PG 76 for guidance on how such a restriction might be overreached when a sale is being completed in case it helps progress matters - Practice guide 76: charging orders - GOV.UK
SYK207386

Thank you Adam, I will try and get more information from the solicitors who have sent the application. There’s actually two title numbers for the property, the second being SYK156014, could you possibly check whether the application has been made under that title number please?

Thank you

Natalie

Thank you for letting me know, could I please ask if you can see if it has been or will be expedited please? And if not, what are the current average wait times for something like this to be done?

Natalie

Sorry, another question, could I (as the buyer) request the application be expedited or does it have to be whoever made the application in the first place?

Thanks

Natalie
