Does anyone have any experience of getting a notice removed?; We did not know it was still on the deeds until a recent letter from Land Registry. We paid off the mortgage last year but only recently got a letter from Land Registry, which mentions a bankruptcy attached to our property. It gives a May 2025 date but in fact the bankruptcy was 2009. (I am hoping that 2025 is just the date they changed the deeds to remove the old lender).Unfortunately they did not remove the bankruptcy note despite it being 16 years ago. I have read online that it is the original insolvency practitioner that should contact the Land Registry and ask for it to be removed. I have no clue now who that was or if they are still in business. Otherwise we have to pay for a court order and attend to state it has been resolved I hope this is not the case. Does any have any advice?

Dawn - our PG 34 offers guidance on how to apply to update the register re such matters - Personal insolvency (PG34) - GOV.UK
Note that whilst this is a public forum you don't usually get anyone other than HMLR responding to threads/posts or sharing their experiences
