Hi,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am in the process of selling my property located at 6 Wolley Court, LS12 5QW, but there is an outstanding charge on the title. The chargee has submitted a request for the charge to be removed, and my conveyancer has asked for the process to be expedited.

Unfortunately, it has been taking longer than expected to resolve this issue. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in facilitating the removal of the charge.

Hi Zev - I assume it was an application to remove the equitable charge and if so that was done earlier today

It's interesting; my conveyancer informed me that it was completed a while ago.

Was this also expedited today?

When can I expect the charge to be removed?

Hi, my property K600476 wants to be transferred to a family members name before my death in worries my will, will be contested by other parties. We have started the process with the solicitors but hit a block on our registration when it was apparent a charge was on the house. The company has been contacted and they confirmed the charge is in the process of removal, however it’s taking a while as we have heard no updates and the solicitors cannot do anything further until this has gone through. I feel it’s quite a time dependent action with not a lot of time to spare. Please can I have an update on this? how long do charges usually take to clear? Many thanks.

HI Mary - their application was submitted on 21st October and is waiting to be processed. It could be several weeks yet before that happens.
If there's an urgency then you/they can request expedition to hasten the process - Request an expedite - GOV.UK
Expedition does not guarantee that it will be completed in 10 days as much will depend if everything is in order and if more is needed from the applicant
