I am in the process of buying a property, sale is agreed based on the agreement seller will extent the lease of the property. Seller's solicitor applied to land registry for lease extension, but there was a query from land registry. Is it possible to know whether seller's solicitor answered the query and Land registry strarted the lease extension process?

Binu - they responded to the request on 7th October but it was insufficient. They have submitted 'more' today and that reply will be considered by the casework team asap as the application is expedited.
NK547253 - provisional new title for lease

Adam, Thank you very much for the prompt replay, is much appreciated. May I know approximately how long the process will take to complete the lease extension?

Binu - impossible to be any more definitive than 'asap' as stated
I'd suggest making a note to ask again on Friday
NK547253

Hi Binu - the casework team have gone back to the conveyancer with a response to their recent reply as it was insufficient
You'll need to speak to the conveyancer to confirm and to clarify what's still needed
NK547253

Could you please confirm whether the response received from the conveyancer on Friday has been reviewed by the casework team? If it has, was the response sufficient to proceed with the application, or are there any further queries that need to be addressed by the conveyancer before moving forward?

Sue - see Extension of leases (PG28) - GOV.UK for HMLR guidance but it's going to be legal advice you really need here
