I recently submitted a Deed of Variation to amend rent charge enforcement rights. Having found a purchaser for my property I subsequently asked the Land Registry to expedite my application. Today I have been advised that my application has been referred to a Senior Technician and as such can be subject to delay. There is no indication of why this matter has been refered What is a typical timeframe for the LR to either complete my original application OR raise further queries

Natchamin - applications involving rentcharges are identified as 'complex' applications especially if they are to be varied/released. They are not routine and will always be referred to a senior technician for that reason to review and agree/confirm next steps as appropriate Expedition gets the application to the processing start line quickly, and that has happened and the casework team will have partially processed it and then referred. The referral will be completed as soon as possible but impossible to give a definitive timescale or estimation re a completion date probably until the referral is completed
