Is an Scottish power of attorney accepted by the land res

I am buying a property in the north east of England , the seller has power of attorney for her severely ill mother.The power of attorney is registered in Scotland as her mother used to live there, I need to instruct solicitors and the solicitor has asked me to contact the Land Registry and confirm in writing that the Land registry accepts an Scottish POA.
