I want to add my husband to my house deeds, so that we both own 50%, no money is changing hands.  What type of transaction do I write in Panel 4 and how much are the fees?

Cindy - Transfer - then put "Full market value £X" and pay a scale 2 fee on half that value

Where on the form do I tell them it's 50%

Cindy - the 50/50 split relates to your beneficial ownerships so you would indicate that on your form TR1, the Transfer deed itself. Panel 10 - read through the form TR1 and the linked guidance on how to complete it for the guidance we can offer

Thank you for your help but you state that I should use form TR1, I thought it was TP1 for part transfer.

Cindy - form TP1 is used when transferring part of the land/property so for example a bit of the garden.

You can't transfer a share of the legal title so it is always a WHOLE, so form TR1, you would use as you are transferring the whole of the legal title from your sole name to the two of you. The 50/50 split you refer to relates to your beneficial shares as mentioned
