I am selling my property and the only thing left before completion can happen is registration of the new lease. My solicitor has registered it via the expedited process but it still hasn’t been registered. I was advised that there were some questions which my solicitor should have now have answered. How long will it take for the lease to be registered so that I can complete my sale

Caroline - if they received a request, and they have responded in full, then it would normally be completed within a few days. They should be able to check and confirm online for you
What specific details have they given you?

They realised that the Land Registry had two further questions on Friday which were hopefully going to be easy to answer. I’m hoping to complete my sale asap as all parties are getting impatient. I need the registration to complete this week.

Caroline - noted but what's the title number/property address for example involved?

Caroline - many thanks
It's not been expedited as processing had already started back in March. Whilst we have had replies from ONP and a request for more time they have yet to provide the correct information. Our last contact with them was on the 20th May when we explained what was still required
Hopefully they can confirm for you and let you know when they hope to respond. I suspect they may be reliant on a third party to assist hence the delay
AGL641908

The final question from the Land Registry has now been answered by my solicitor and submitted this afternoon. Could you confirm that the lease will be registered as soon as possible?

Hi Adam - I have spoken to the solicitors and they promise they will deal with this today. Are you able to give me a timeframe for Registration of the Lease once the final question has been dealt with. I really need to give my purchasers an idea of when we can complete. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Hi Caroline - No as impossible to be definitive re timescales as a) your conveyancer needs to respond and provide what's required and b) the casework team then have to review and consider what's been provided before completing the registration as appropriate
Too many uncertainties involved at this stage and really all about your conveyancer confidently telling you not only they have replied but also in full this time
Then the casework team can do all they can to complete matters asap
AGL641908
