Lease not held on LR

I want to buy a leasehold property, however LR does not hold copy of the lease.

I want to buy a property, however LR does not hold a copy of the lease.
No copy of the lease referred to is held by LR.
How is this possible and how can be resolved please?

Hello Polya - responsibility for holding the lease/counterpart rests with the landlord and tenant. We will often have a copy on file but that's not always the case. If nobody has a copy then the landlord/tenant should consider drawing up a new lease as appropriate
