Hello. Mum and son own a property jointly. Son has power of attorney for the mum as she is in a care home with limited capacity. Please can you confirm whether the son with the attorney can transfer the property to his sole name.

Hello Harnit - a joint proprietor can transfer the legal ownership as both the attorney for the other joint owner and as themselves. But please do refer to our PG 9 sections 4 and 5 for additional guidance as appropriate Powers of attorney and registered land (PG9) - GOV.UK
