Hi,

I'm trying to purchase the leasehold title to the land on my property. I have asked the company I pay rent to, to sell it me. They said they would be able sell there ownership part, however as they are the sublease holder the full deed cannot be transferred to me as there is an intervening head leaseholder interest on it.

The head lease holder cannot be contacted as the company went dissolved quite sometime ago.
So they're collecting the land rent for both even though the Head leaseholder can't be located.

My question is how can I work around that or what are my options to buy the full title as the head leaseholder cannot be found?

Also should I be paying the full rent even though one party no longer can be found?

Thanks.

Hi W C - it's legal advice you need here to confirm the legal position and how the freehold/head lease and sub-lease impact on what you want to achieve
You could also try The Leasehold Advisory Service but it's most likely specific legal advice, which we don't provide, is what you need.
