hi,
we bought our house about 5 years ago now, but the seller informed us there were no deeds to the house, as they had been lost. We have the house in our name and all the documents, but if i search online here: https://www.gov.uk/search-property-information-land-registry it can't find any information about our house.

How would I go about registering us as the owners ? is this to do with the deeds missing?
many thanks

Hi Samantha - if you bought 5 years ago it should be registered irrespective of whether the seller handed over the old deeds or not. It reads as if the address you are searching does not match the registered information online
What's the postal address please and I can check?

Ah amazing, actually just seen its not quite 5 years! We purchased the house May 2019 so will be 5 years this May. If that's the case then that should be fine. The address is Kinghay, SP3 6BZ.
Many thanks that would be super helpful!

Samantha - many thanks. As I thought a mismatch as it's down as Kinghay Cottages, 7 East Knoyle - I'll flag it with colleagues to amend so that the address matches the registered information. I assume Kinghay is the actual postal address as confirmed by the council?
You can though search by title number instead of address - use WT277839 to get the registered information you want as and when needed

Samantha - that makes sense as there's a Kinghay Cottage/Number 7 linked to the farm across the road.
Search by title number for your info. And I'll flag as mentioned with colleagues

ah so amazing i can see an entry if you search by title numebr! Thats great, that clear's that up..

So regarding the deeds - you think as we will have owned the house now nearly 5 years we don't need to apply new deeds / lost deeds? Just incase we want to sell in the future ...

Samantha - you don't need the 'old' deeds. The registered information is all that a buyer needs as proof of ownership
