I have the option of buying the freehold of 5 houses so the ground rent payable on those properties would become due to me. Would this just require submission of a TR1 for each of the individual houses? 

If so would the fee payable be based on the price of the freehold of teach site or would the value of the property be used?

I am not the lease holder of any of the properties.

Paul - the legal ownership would be transferred by way of a form TR1, yes. If all owned by the same people/company then one Transfer could be used
The fee is based on the consideration paid
