I am buying a house with a friend. we will get planning permission for it to be split not two properties. What willweneed to do with the land registry?

Hi Jenny - It is not clear how exactly you will be splitting the property - is it split into two flats, in which case it would be registration of new lease, or is it going to be two separate houses which would mean a transfer of part of the land from the original title.&#160; &#160;<br> <br> The land registration aspect and requirement will be determined on the basis of how the two properties are split and legally held.&#160;&#160;<br> <br> Guidance on new leases can be found in our <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/leases-when-to-register">Practice Guide 25</a>.<br> <br> Guidance about transfers of part can be found on our <a href="https://www.gov.uk/registering-land-or-property-with-land-registry/transfer-ownership-of-your-property">website</a>.&#160;<br> <br> I hope this is of some help.
