Hi there,
I have applied to add an easement from one property that I own, through another that I own, to a council adopted road. I sent a cheque for £80 and had it returned. How much should I send, please?
Thanks!
Best wishes,
Alastair Poulain

Hi Alastair - what did the letter returning the cheque state please? And the title number?
We would usually bank the cheque and clear up any issues re the amount when processing was started.
Easements tend to attract a fixed fee of £40 but I doubt if that was the issue here - unless you prove me wrong of course

Hi Adam - it is DT455168 - South Tithe, DT96SL is the postcode. I have a sneaking suspicion I didn't put any amount down in the 'to pay' box.
Best wishes,
Alastair

Hi Alastair - many thanks and suspect that was the case. The details state that "Amounts and figures do not agree or not present."
I would suggest waiting until your application is considered by the casework team as they will then contact you as appropriate and also advise as to the correct fee to be paid
