How long are DJP forms taking to be processed

I sent one of these off yesterday. Was wondering what the turn around time is at the moment. (Title Number HS90872)

Paul - timescales can vary but you should expect to wait several weeks. We will contact you once processing begins or is completed as appropriate

How many weeks is several 2, 3, 20?

Paul - much nearer 20 than a couple or a few weeks. There's no definitive timescale I can give I'm afraid but you should expect to wait several weeks before you hear from us.

If there's no urgency involved then post again next week and I can confirm receipt for you. And if there is an urgency you can request expedition and it should be processed within 2 weeks. We can be much more definitive re urgent timescale

It's not urgent, only that my wife died ten years ago and I never got around to doing it, or even realised it needed doing. I am now thinking of selling the house and just wanted this out of the way.

Will this stop me from going ahead with an estate agent?

Yes I am the same person who asked about this the other day and said I wasn't going to do it. I've had a bit of a think since.

Hi Paul - understood and no it doesn't stop you marketing it. EA's can ask specific Qs re who owns it etc and in my experience explaining the circumstances is enough.
An actual buyer would rely on the register entries and the death certificate to confirm that you were the only one selling.
Nudge me again next week as I said so I can see we have it and we can try and get it done to remove any further Qs over the registered information being up to date. Hope that's ok

Hi Paul - the register has been updated now and confirmation is in the post. My experience of the post is it will take time to arrive. I wouldn't expect it to be delivered until early next week.
